I am looking for some suggestions on how to accomplish the following:

Basically, I want to offer uses about 10 different page templates to my users.  I want them to be able to change the templates at any time, and to edit modules on the page.

However, I don't want them to have access to much else (i.e. to add new pages, or change various settings in the Page Settings area).

Any tips on how this can be accomplished?  Can I limit access to the Add page, export/import page buttons on the control panel for specific users?  Can I limit what can be seen in the page settings for certain users, or have them change the templates another way?

My goal is the following:  I want to offer something that is flexible for my users, but I do not want them to get confused with all the page settings available.  For what I am planning to offer, they really only need to have access to change templates and to edit the modules once the template is set.

The rest of the settings will simply cause me major support headaches, as my goal is not to train them to use DNN or to explain all the settings.  In some cases I don't want them to change the settings, such as changing the page's permissions.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Are these users administrators, or are they regular users for whom you are trying to set up personal pages.

You can give users edit rights to specific pages and that shouldn't give them rights to add pages.

These users are not admins.  I created a role and gave it to a new non-admin user.  For the page settings, I gave the role edit access.

Now when I log in with this user, they only have access to edit everything on this page, but also have the following access.

On the control panel, under page functions, this user has access to:

• Add
• Settings
  
• Copy
• Export
• Import

I don't want them to have access to Add, Copy, Export or Import.  Ideally,  I would like to also limit what they see under page Settings or they will get confused.  Under page settings, I would only like for them to change the page skin and containers.

I am selling this product as something straightforward and simple...for non-technical users.

Oliver Hine (oliverhine.com) as created an "Advanced Permissions Provider."  You might want to take a look and see if that provides the granular control that you need.  I don't have a copy of it handy, so I can't look at it in detail.
