Hi,,

m newbei to dnn and i installed it with IIS 7 and using sql server 2005 but ..when i installed it everything goes fine..i hv the permission to the folders n all..and check all things that m aware of ..finally got it installed but..when i tried to use login or any other link on the home page..no link is working and i got an error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

then i installed it again with some video tutorial help and same procedure i repeat..installed it again correctly..but no success same issue..again..m new to dnn..and know lil of coding..pls someone help me..

Does this happen in a new installation to which you have done nothing? If so, you might want to reinstall.

If you have specified a login page, perhaps it's not pointing to the correct place.

Look in the event log to see if there is a more detailed error message.

yes..it happen to the new installation..even i tried reinstall it two more times..and with the upgraded version too..but no success..there is no error mentioning in log too..it seems like no page or file is at place..no file found..do i put all these sumwhere else..or at wrong place.. the path where i put is C:\inetpub\wwwroot\my website

And, the error is about not only login link..no other link is working either it is register or home..same error..and how to know if it is mentioning wrong link..

Actually the problem is ..port number was using by default is 80 either u set up sumthing else..it is like..

http://localhost:85/ this is default page..
when u click any link..like home..
u r redirect to http://localhost/Register.aspx?Retu...fHome.aspx
and here is the loop..u hv to check the url..it is not the port u set..edit it to
http://localhost:85/Register.aspx?ReturnUrl=http%3a%2f%2flocalhost%2fHome.aspx

it solved my issue.. try this..

There is a line in web.config that you need to adjust if you are using a non-standard port.  That might help.
