Hello, first time poster, really enjoy these forums.

I think I've spent enough time looking around to assume that purchasing a 3rd party module is the only solution for a login redirect based on role. Here's my scenario:

> Portal uses Active Directory to log in (role synching is working fine)
> 3 types of users will log in
> upon login, the user will be directed to their own home page based on their role

This seems simple enough, redirecting by role, like it should be already built into DotNetNuke, but unfortunately it isn't.

Two questions:

1) Are 3rd party plugins the way to go here, and if so -- does anyone know if they support Active Directory authentication?

2) Can a Dynamic Login module be created with Open Web Studio?

Ok, a 3rd question -- any other ideas?

1) DataSprings Dynamic Login can do this, but I don't know if it handles Active Directory, I would contact DataSprings support for clarification

2) Yes I would have thought this would be possible with OWS, I am not an expert in OWS though Paul Deschenes is, you can view beginnings of an OWS login module here which you could take and modify:

Enhancing the OWS Login Module and Building a Twitter Module

Of course this will take a bit of time to study and learn, so depending on your deadlines you may find that the DataSprings module will be quicker to implement.
