DNN live site to a localhost issues

ML/DNN We followed the video step by step and all seemed to had gone well. Once we load-up the homepage, we can see that most of our images are missing and many of the buttons point us back to our live site. Therefore it's going to be difficult to perform any work without understand that cause and effect. Please help! Also, anything of the functions from ML do not work at all. I am not sure if that is because the ASPDNSF license is not being registered to our localhost. We have submitted a request the their team. We cannot log into the localhost site as it is directing us back to the live site. Thank you in advance for your input.

The redirection is quite likely the result of not changing the portalalias entry in your local installation. Be sure to view How to backup a live hosted DotNetNuke website and restore it to a localhost installation How to transfer a localhost DotNetNuke installation to a live website Links to images or other URLs not working is probably due to absolute links in your content. Take a look at Find and Replace SQL queries for DotNetNuke(To fix problems after transferring a localhost database to a live website and other useful functions) If you are using DotNetNuke 5.x, you may find that the actual sql in that tutorial do not work. Instead, you may find that the F3 module from Engagesoftware.com (it is free) is a good solution.

The login for our site is an https. Does this have to be added into the portal name? If so, please provide an example.

No, the portalalias table should not include the http:// or https:// part. But, you should enable SSL in the Site Settings. You will also need to configure the IIS website for SSL.
