Hey guys,

I built a site on my local machine, then upload it to the hosted server per the instruction in Issue #22.  As expected, images and links were broken due to their being prefixed with a different localhost url. 

On the remote version, I logged in and opened up the html modules that need correcting and updated the links accordingly and hit save.  However, the changes reverted back to the original links.  What's weird is that in the version history I can see that a change was made and published, but the actual change isn't reflected in the link - it's still the old one.  I've tried restarting DNN as well as clearing the browser cache.

I can make these changes fine on my localhost version - just the hosted version has this problem.  I'm running 5.2.3.   (I haven't upgraded yet as there still seems to be people complaining of bugs with the latest versions.)  Everything else on the site seem to work fine.

Anyone ever encounter this issue before?  Any thoughts?

Is it possible that you didn't update the portalalias table and you are really seeing the other site?

I re-uploaded all the files and re-restored the database and that seemed to work.  Weird glitch, perhaps?

Does anyone know if the "Find and Replace SQL Query" (from Bi4ce) listed in DNN #22 still works for DNN 5?   The last two posts on Kevin Schreiner's blog seems to indicate that it doesn't work with the later version of DNN 4 onward.  http://www.r2idnn.com/Forum/afv/top...fpg/2.aspx

Mitchel Sellers also created DNN Text/HTML module that he says no longer works in DNN 5. http://www.iowacomputergurus.com/fr...-tool.aspx

I'm just wondering if anyone has found a text/html replacement method that works on DNN5?

There were changes in the database when the text/html module started to support versioning and workflow.  That's probably what is broken in those things.

What additional features do you want to have?

OK. So, the text/html replacement query/module no longer works then for DNN5?

I was just looking for a another easier way to update links when a site has been transferred from localhost to live server. Is there alternative way or do we have to do it manually for now?

It looks like the current version of Engage Software's F3 module -- it's free -- has been upgraded to work with DotNetNuke 5.1.1 or later versions.
