Hi DNN Creative,
Is it possible to hide a module on a page? I was told that a way to do this is to have a module in a pane, but apply no container to the module.
Can you tell me a way to have no container for a module on a single page? When I try this all that it does is apply the default module.
Thanks
Jon

All modules need to have containers.
You can choose to not display the container by un-checking a setting on the Module Settings page. That won't hide the module, though. It just hides the container.
Perhaps you could explain more about hiding the module. If it is hidden, it won't do anything ...

Hi Joseph,
I am using DNNSpot Ecommerce module. The problem with the category module is that it does not allow you to have an introduction page advertising all your categories. It simply starts on the first category. I want customers to click a link / icon of which category they are interested in.
The module is installed on the STORE page. If I un-check the container, I then hide all categories, and not just the first category.
They told me this was possibly the only way to do this, but if you have any further suggestions, I would be greatly appreciative.
cheers

If I understand your problem, there is an easy fix. Each time I create a skin and a collection of module containers, I create a container with no heading and applicable padding and margin. So, you are in effect using a module container that is invisible. If you would like a sample of a "blank" module container, let me know and I can send you an example.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the tip. I do think it will still cause issues though, as there is only ever one page (store page) the module is installed in. To access other categories the module loads a file from the database e.g.
http://localhost/beijingbag/store-t...rugs.aspx,
but still always displays the one page and one module in the one container. If I hide the module, it will hide all the other categories too. I think the module is just limiting in what it can offer. The module does not allow you to add separate pages to allow a category per page. I guess this is faster, than having customers load a new page, for every new category or product.
Thanks for your help Joe. Much appreciated. Maybe DNNSpot will offer more functionality later on.
Cheers
Jon
