Hello all.
How can I set up a folder in the File Manager module so that some specific users have read/write permission on it and some other users have only read permission.
I tries to do it through the File Manager directly but it seems it doesn't work. Is it bugged ?
Thank you for information

It should work. Set permission per folder at the bottom of the file manager page.

This is what I did. Will check on another installation of DNN and keep you informed.
Thank you for answering.

Still doesn't work.
I can't give someone the right to write (upload files) on a specific folder ?
How can I do this ?

This module seems bugged, there's no way I can figure out how to do this. I've set write permissions on a folder for a specific user, but once I log in with this user, I can't upload any files, the upload button is grey and I can't click it.

Can you explain how you are giving users access to the File Manager?
Which version of DotNetNuke are you using?

I am using DNN 5.2.0 and the File Manager version is 1.0.
How I proceed is : I click on the folder I want to share in the FM under the
"Folder Security Settings
" tab, I add specific users and grant them with read and write permissions.
It seems it doesn't work this way. It won't allow a user to upload files as I want to.
Thanx for info

Hmmm. Are you giving them access on the Admin, File Manager page, or have you set up a special page with the File Manager on it? Are they able to download files?

Yes they can download files. And I have set up a special page with the File Manager module on it. What I want is two groups of users, one that can upload and download files in a special repository and one that can only download files from this repository.
Downloading seems to work fine if I grant the View permission on the repository. But uploading doesn't work, unless I give administration rights to the user, which I don't want if there's a better way to do it.
Thank you

You need to do two things.
1. Under Module Settings, give Edit access to the module.
2. Highlight the folder and, at the bottom of the page highlight the folder that you want to use and give "Write to Folder" privileges to the user or role.
