Hey, I'm trying to add a very simple link to a page which just says "click here to download" and obviously allows a user to download a file... Using DNN, I can very easily control access to that link (i.e. adjust the permissions on the HTML module itself), but is there any way to actually protect the file itself so that only people in a certain DNN permission group can download it? (for example, under the current solution, you need to be a member of the proper DNN group to access the link, however a savy internet user could simply add that link anywhere or type it directly into the web address bar and download the file that way. I need to authenticate the download somehow...) Thanks in advance for the help..

Create a protected directory in the File Manager, set permissions on the directory (using File Manager), and place the file in that directory.
