Hi, I have created a local installation of DNN and now want to upload it to a web host. I have been following Lee's video and I start having problems after I attach the database file to SQL Express. The site still works after attaching it, but when I change the connection string in the web.config file, it no longer works. The video says that once I attach the database file the site shouldn't work and then when I change the web.config file it should work...it is happening the other way around for me. I am getting the following error : Login failed for user 'mic b'. The user is not   ociated with a trusted SQL Server connection. I have checked all the permissions, have detached and reattached the db several times and just can't seem to get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If You have possibility - change authentication mode of SQL Server to mixed mode.

SQL Express authentication is already set to mixed mode.

Can you confirm:

You have installed SQL Server exactly the same as the tutorial

You have added this user to the security / logins folder and to the database / security / users folder

Double clicking on that username, the user has db_owner ticked in Database Role Membership

Yes, SQL is installed as per the tutorial, and the user is added to both security folders and has db_owner checked. I am using a machine with Vista - not sure it that makes any difference.

Can you connect to the database using SQL Server Management Studio (Express) using the username, p word, and database name that are using in your connection string?

Yes, I can connect to SQL using the username & p word...

When I was trying to attach the database, it wouldn't let me do it unless I ran SQL as Administrator, but after I attached it, and added the users, I can login as the user without running it as Admin

I re-installed SQL Server and now it is working! Yay! Thanks for your help
