Is there a way to control the width and height of an html panel? I have a three panel page that has a html panel left, centre and right. I would like to keep them the exact same height. I have tried using a table and specifying the dimensions but they look different sizes on different computers. I think it has to do with the fonts installed on each computer but not sure, I am using Arial so everyone should have that installed. You can (and probably should) control this via the skin.css file that you're using for your site. Each pane is defined in there (ie: ContentPane, LeftPane, RightPane, whatever other panes your skin provides), and you can specify a width in there.

Lee has a bunch of excellent skinning tutorials that you should go through - just search for 'skinning' and I think you'll find what you need.

I can see an example of your left pane is not as long as your content pane.

To get everything to the same height can be tricky. Bear in mind that the amount of content you add into a content pane will change the height.

The best way to do this is not to have the main styling for the content in the containers, but instead have it in the skin itself.

To provide an example if you add this code into your skin.css file:

.leftpane {
border: 1px solid red;}

.contentpane {
border: 1px solid red;}

You will see that the border is of the same height for your left and content panes.

So, you could add background styling for the content panes, such as background colors / images and not set background images for your containers.
