A few quick questions on DNN Creative's implementation of Active Forums that I would like to replicate on my site's Active forums' implementation:

• What editor do you provide to users when entering their post (after they hit 'Add new reply')? FCK Editor or another?
• In my own site's current implementation of Active Forums there are 5 what I call 'roll over stars' in existing topics. These are at the top of a topic beside the words 'Add reply' and when you rollover the 'stars' and click you can - I think - rate the topic. These 'stars' are not on the DNCreative forums. How did you get rid of them?

It's the FCKEditor, so it's set to the Default DNN Editor in the Forum Groups settings

I think the stars maybe removed because the version here is active forums v3.5

You maybe able to change this however by going to the Templates link:

Have a look at the various templates that you can style and change the details that you need. - ie. TopicsView

Thanks for the (as always!) prompt reply Lee. With your implementation of FCKEditor I see you have reduced the number of formatting buttons exposed to the user, however are you aware of any compatability issues this editor has with the Safari browser? Or are such issues eliminated by the reduced set of buttons made available to users?

I reduced the number of buttons available to the users so that they would not format the text and therefore add excess HTML to the pages. I'm not aware of any compatibility issues with Safari, but I have not tested on Safari. Thanks,

I too haven't test with Safari but this page I cam across this a.m. brought to my attention that there are some issues with Safari:

thanks for the info, you could also use the other text editor options that come with Active Forums, rather than using FCKEditor, to test with Safari.
