I created a newsletter in DNN and uploaded several pdf files to the server. In the newsletter I created a hyperlink to the file on the server for each of the pdf's so the recipient could click to see the content. I always send myself a copy so I can check and make sure it is delivered. When I opened my email, hosted by another service and clicked on each link, instead of taking me to the file, it took me to my home page (on another unrelated web site) with every link. When I hover over the link the first word in the hover box is "blocked:" then it lists the file name. What has happended? And, is there any way to know if everyone to whom the newsletter was sent is experiencing the same problem? Thank you.

You need to make sure that your email contains a complete URL. If you are using the DotNetNuke editor to create the copy, look at the link in source mode and correct it if it generates a link that would only make sense to DotNetNuke. Usually, unchecking the "track clicks" box is enough.

Joseph - Thanks for your input, but I am not sure what it means to check the source code. I did go back and check, when I select "File" in the browse server section of the hyperlink creator it immediately defaults the http to other, so I tried correcting this back to http. That did not create any difference in the result. I then repeated that step and added "www." in the right hand side of the URL box; same result, except these both told me I could not find the page when I launched from the recipient side. The "URL" appears to be the complete address copied form the file name (by the way these were word docs, not pdf's as my original question stated). Also I am unsure what, if any change should be made to URL, File, etc in the hyperlink creator. I am pretty sure I have successfully inserted links in emails before that went to files on the server. And, with respect to the un-checking the track clicks, I am not sure what that means because all I did was save a file and the file is not in a link module? Sorry for rambling, but this one has me really confused.
