Registration password sent in email is not the same as the original

Hi Forum, I am having a small issue or maybe I am just doing/configured something wrong. I have my site set to public registration with the use of CAPTCHA. When my users login or attempt to login with the password they gave when they registered, it fails. To trouble shoot I created a test user and when I received the confirmation email, I had a a password that was not the one I had input but one that looked like it was generated. I do have the web.config file set to password encrypt to true. Will this cause this issue. I could use an answer to this quite urgently.

Can you login with the password that was emailed? What comes back if you use the Forgot Password link?

Hi, the emailed password does not match what was input when a person registers. The emailed password does work when used however. When the user clicks the forgot password, it sends the email that not the one the user had input... in other words the one that looks generated
