Hi,
I've just copied a portal template from test to production server (same version 4.9.2 but different instance). Thanks to your tutorial, it has saved me a truck load of time! Only probelm I've got is making the link clicks urls work?
eg. /LinkClick.aspx?link=360&tabid=358 doesn't resolve after I imported the portal
All tips appreciated. I've missed my deadline for go-live.
Thanks in advance

have a look at this tutorial:
Find and Replace SQL queries for DotNetNuke
(To fix problems after transferring a localhost database to a live website and other useful functions)
I'm not sure if this will work for links that have linkclick as I think each of those links are unique for tracking, but it is worth a quick look.
When I create links, I always create a link to the actual page rather than use the linkclick method.

You will generate actual links and not linkclicks if you uncheck the box to track clicks. It's better, IMHO, to do that and let Google Analytics do your tracking.

Thanks for the reply.
We decided to remove LinkClick manually in test and re-export the template. (I've got limited SQL skills)
As you suggested, we've also made it a rule not to use it on future links... actually is there a way to default it as unchecked? (we have several different people editing with varying understanding/html skills)
I checked fckconfig.js but no settings in there.
thanks again.

hello,
I cannot find a way to default tracking as unchecked, the only option I can find is to disable the linkbrowser button.
In the fckconfig.js file
(DotNetNuke installation files / providers / HTML editor providers / FCK / custom) folder
set:
FCKConfig.LinkBrowser = false ;
You'll need to go to the host menu / HostSettings and restart the application in order for the settings to take effect.
This will mean your administrators cannot navigate to a link using a drop-down list of the pages on your website, they will be forced to manually enter the URL for the page they wish to link to.
