Which DNN Version have you installed?
Was DNN working, before Installing the Engage module?
Which Engage Module have you installed?
Have you checked with Engage that, if their module is compatible with the version of DNN installed or on localhost?

I am using DNN 5. The install worked when I first installed and got the system running. I then wanted to write a small module for some of the ASP .Net pages I already have. That was when I used the Engage C# template for creating a DNN modules. After trying to debug the project that used the template, I have not been able to get the site to work again. I have uninstalled DNN, SQL Server 2005 express, and VS 2008 and reinstalled them. Nothing has worked. The site just looks like the pictures I posted before. I would have thought that after re-installing everything DNN would work correctly but the site still has nothing on the page and I can not get the login to work. I have deleted everything in the DNN directory and started over multiple times so I do not think the problem is in the DNN code. I have deleted the Database and let the DNN installer re-create the Database multiple times and still the site does not work. Is there anything that is written to the registry that would allow a bad configuration parameter to hang around between installs or something of that nature?

As far as I know DNN, DNN does not create database for you, (please correct me if I am wrong), I will suggest you to install DNN in brand new location (directory), create the database, set permission of the DNN Folder, Setup the Connection string, and run DNN install, and you should good to go.

DNN has nothing to do with windows registry. Here is the good article which may help you,

I'd suggest removing the custom module (delete the folder under Desktop Modules and any dlls in the bin directory.  Does everything work when you do that?

I cannot explain what has happened, but I have it working. I have been re-installing DNN to C:\DotNetNuke and I have been creating a database called DotNetNuke. Each time I re-installed with these settings the page would not display. This time I changed to a DNN install of C:\DNN and a database called DNN and the install worked and I have the page.

I have no idea why changing from the original install parameters would have an affect, but it did. Thank you all for you help.

It was not the DNN Installation Folder, actually it was your database, anyway I am glad you're back to work.

Kazi, Just to let you know, if you are installing a localhost installation, DotNetNuke does create the database for you as a SQL express mdf database. it is stored in the app_data folder within the DotNetNuke installation files.
