Hi guys, I have a doubt: a)i want to use dotnetnuke but my application is not a typical website but its the integration of the three module namely content management system,property management system and interaction with accounting system database. b)i think i will have to use lots of forms to collect the data from the public/staff....send it to the database and again show it in the page for edit,update and delete based on the user role. c)My System also may add lots and lots of table to the database and here we may be talking about more than 10 gigs of data from 5 years from now. d)My system wants lots of flexiblity in the design aspects too. At this point its hard for me to decide whether to go with dotnetnuke or not but i want to use it because it has really lots of useful modules like chat,calendar,media,file management which fulfills some of my project objective.Please suggest me.I am flexible to buy some external modules if my development is easier to some extent. There are several modules that might help you:

-- DotNetNuke is a content management system

-- Ventrian.com has a "Property Agent" module.

-- There are several CRM applications. You might want to take a look at a free "Help Desk" module at adefwebserver.com.

-- For forms, the is the "Form and List" module, Dynamic Forms from Data Springs, and several other forms modules.

What about the custom search????What about the fetching the data from the database to the page???

There might be number of ways to fetch data on a page from the database. 2 of them are listed below.

1) Either you have to write custom module

2) Or a report Module that comes with DNN, can be use to display data on a page. Only Host
user can configure the Report module and authorized user can only place Report module on its page to show data.

Hi imran, thanks for the response....i found that reports work preety good to pull data from the database ....one more query...if some user wants to click on a link and button and display the filtered data he/she wants....or lets say user wants to show data according to the advanced search form ....how we have to proceed????

You might want to look at SQL Grid Selected View or SGSV, a module from Tressleworks.ca.  It's quite nice.
