Hi,

When the user sent me the screenshot, i thought there messing around in MS paint...until i went and saw it for myself.

When the user goes into edit a section / add an item, the text on all the labels in cowboy speak or something! Its fine for me though, when i look through the admin account.

I have attached a screenshot of what the user is getting, and next to it, what I see. I can only think its something to do with a language pack or something, but i havent been able to find anything like this on the forums.

Am i going mad, can anyone please help point me in the right direction.

Have you installed any language packs?

(I've gotta say, though ... the text is hilarious!)

Believe me, no-one found it funnier than I did! Its the fact that its only happening for role based people. If the same person, same PC uses the Admin account its fine!

This is the only thing in the language section.

The other place to look is in the FCK editor configuration. The "localized" text is store in resx files. I'd start looking in this directory:

/Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/Fck/App_LocalResources/



When you get this sorted out, I'll be waiting to hear the explanation.

did you make any progress on this? I have never seen anything like this and am intrigued where this has come from!

Yep, this has been resolved now - thankfully!!

It appears that as part of the English language pack installed there is an ‘English (United States)’ option.  If the user chooses this option they get American speak, if they choose the language ‘English (United Kingdom)’ it works as normal.

 

This is changed via a drop down list on the far right hand side of the screen.

Simple really!
