Being a newbie I am following the videos Lee has created and they are great. But...I am now on video 2 and working to add the SqlExpress to the webconfig file so I can continue to access my localhost site. After following the instructions I get this error
Parser Error Message: The entry 'SiteSqlServer' has already been added
Lee or anyone else, I need some help. I'm stuck.

I'm guessing that you have added a second (duplicate) key in your web.config file. If you attach it, we can take a look. Make sure to change any passwords, user names, and server addresses. |

Look at the < appsettings > line.
The first and third lines that follow it define the key names SiteSqlServer. I think that you want the first one and need to delete or comment out the second one.

Do you mean the one that says "kept for backward compatability"? Or the line after that?
Thanks so much for the help!

Keep the two lines following and delete the next two lines. |

Go back to your originally posted file and delete lines 34 and 35. Then, post the entire file here if there are errors. Also post the errors.

Can I see it? Are you absolutely positive you've replaced the file?

Not sure what you mean by can I see it? I sent you a copy of the web config file after deleting lines 34 & 35. On my end after I deleted the two lines I saved it. Before the deletion I was getting the error about line 33. Let me know what you need to see or have access to and I will gladly turn it over. |

That missing tag was just from my copying into a text file. It is in place in the web config file.
I did check the file for errors through Visual Studio Tools and it says there are not any but when I try to access the website via localhost it is giving me the error about line 23. One thing that is different is I am using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and the management studio within. Does this make any difference?
I'm so new at this that I have no idea what to do.
