I'm following the tutorial to install DNN on Vista. After I installed IIS and typed in http://localhost/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://localhost/ the page showed up. That was yesterday. But today when I type in http://localhost/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://localhost/ I get a 404-error (page not found). I tried to find out what my problem was on Google, but till now I can't find a solution. Can you help me further with this. Thanks and kind regards, Jeannine

hello, Have you solved this problem? Does this problem happen in all browsers, you may find that in IE you need to lower your security settings so that you can display localhost pages. Thanks,

Hi Lee, This problem is solved. For some reason I need to type in http://localhost:81/ instead of http://localhost/. I don't understand why it stopped working but OK, it works now. Kind regards, Jeannine

Been using DNN in a develpment environment for a few weeks. Yesterday I started to get this error message: 404 - File or directory not found. We are using: DotNetNuke 5.1.4, ASP.NET 3.5, IIS 7, Sql Server 2005, Windows 2008. Any suggestions?

Our DNN site was working fine, until we added addtional websites to our webserver. Now we get the message 404 - File or directory not found. When we stop all the websites but the DNN site, DNN works fine. Any suggestions?

Can you provide some details about the other websites? Are they sharing an IP address or a port with the DotNetNuke installation? From the symptoms that you describe, it would seem that the other sites are somehow stopping http requests from reaching the DotNetNuke installation.
