friends, I installed forums module. My functionality is like this. The user can view the forums and discussions. but when he tries to reply or create a new thread the system should ask the user to login. what is the setting should be made to make this functionality working? Thanks in advance

I don't believe that functionality is present in the module. You might be more successful with something like Active Forums, which is used here. I believe it can at least display a message.
