Please help. I have read entries about moving from a testing environment to real, but my situation is a little different.

I need to take my existing live DNN 4 site to another hosting provider.  Therefore, my domain name will be identical, so i don't think that creating an alias will work...? 

I don't care if the site is down for a few days. I basically need to package up my current site, and then move it to new provider.

The new provider is also the domain registrar...not sure if it makes a difference.

I do not have any purchased skins or additional modules on the site yet. Everything is the defaut installation, with the exception that I modified the default background image to a brown fade.

As you can see, it takes 20 seconds to load and its a simple text site right now. 

Just follow the instructions in the tutorial.

As you have noted, you can ignore the part about changing the entry in the PortalAlias table. You will need to update the connection string so that it points at your new database server.
