Can anyone see my errors in this skin - I've been getting a mix of errors: partially a solpartprovider error and then a badly formed server tag error.  I can upload the skin, but cannot apply it.  I even ran my html through W3c and that helped a little.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.  I'm also including the whole skin file.  And believe it or not, I'm watching videos on how to do this - but I'm still getting stuck somehow!  Once i get this uploaded it think i'll just modify the thing on my localhost.  WOW.

I installed your skin on my test site (4.9.3) and applied it to a skin.  There were no errors.

Which version of DotNetNuke are you using?

The skin installs fine - it just cannot be applied!

I just installed a clean version of 5.00.01 just to ensure I had not corrupted something locally - and I still get the same error.

"server tag is not well formed"

Then, if I keep trying it I get a solpartmenuprovider error for some reason.  I wondered if somehow these two errors were connected.  As I look at my skin file (html) i can not find any unclosed tags, spaces, etc - but that maybe an expert would/could see something I was missing.

It could well be that this is an issue with 5.0.1.

If I were in your shoes, I would go back to the customer and discuss the use of 5.0.1.  DotNetNuke Corporation advises that 5.x is not suitable for production sites at this time.  I would certainly let the customer know this advice.

Why does the customer want 5.0.1? 


Depending on your timetable, it might be that a 5.x version will be available and recommended for use by the time that you go live.  In the meantime, I would recommend that you do your development with 4.9.4 and hope to upgrade.

Now, as for troubleshooting ... it would help to see the .ascx file that is generated when you install the skin.  Perhaps you can look at that file, or attach it here ...

I did verify that the problem occurs in 5.x when I installed your skin in a 5.1.0 test system.

You first div tag in the htm file is missing the closing tag.  Perhaps that's part of the problem.

During the installation, DotNetNuke complained that there was not a manifest file.  This is required in 5.x skins, but DotNetNuke should be able to use old skins.

Oh ... I fixed the div tag and reinstalled, but that didn't fix the problem.  So ... I don't know what is happening.  I do know, though, that your skin works just find in 4.9.3.  Look for issues related to old version skins with 5.x ...

I found it!   This line is in error, with a misplaced " in the htm file.

You need a " after server and one less " after false .
