Hello all New here so treat me gently ;-) I have set up a secure folder with file manager containing a pdf, sett permissions so that only registered users can download the file. Ideally when non-registered users click on the pdf link they get a prompt to register, however I get the following message: Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /LinkClick.aspx Is this a server error which the host needs to sort out or is there something I need to do with a config file. Thanks. J

That should work. Can registered users download the file?

THe 404 error is the standard "file not found" error, so the problem seems to be in the link. If you recreate it and uncheck the box to track clicks, you will get a more standard URL that you can test.

Yup registered users can download the file ok. Am I going the wrong way about doing this? Just want registered users to download the file and non-registered to be prompted to register on click. What route would you take?

I would have done what you did.  I will check on this and get back to you, but probably not until much later today.

When I try that, I get a message that "You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File."  I get neither a login redirect or an error.

I do know that it is possible to intercept the error message and do a redirect to a login page.  To do so, you must replace a "handler" with custom code.  I just don't recall how to do it.

Thanks very much for the feedback. I have decided to use two seperate modules, one to say there is a download available and asking to register (with text link), and one with the actual download which appears to registered users.
