When the user is prompted to change their password the following message also is displayed

"You must enter a valid password. Please check with the portal administrator if you do not know the password requirements"

I'm sure this is somewhere in the language editor to change this, but I've been looking for hours and can't find it.  Does anyone know where this setting is located?

Find it on the account setting page, right click on it, and copy the link.

I have a similar issue, and I can't get it to work.  We force a password change on first login.  When someone puts in a new password that does not meet the requirments, they get the following message:

"You must enter a valid password. Please check with the Portal Administrator if you do not know the password requirements."

I found this message in the Languages section under SharedResources > PasswordInvalid.Text (instead of InvalidPassword.Text, which appears to be used when you register and put in an invalid password vs. password reset)

I have changed the text, saved the changes, saved the Resource File, and even restarted the application.  Still, when I type in an invalid password when resetting, I still get the old default text.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

When I go back to the PasswordInvalid.Text settings, my new text is still there, but it is not showing up.  What step am I missing?

Just sending an update.  It turns out the setting I was changing was not the right one.  I was changing the Global Resources > SharedResources > PasswordInvalid.Text.

It turns out the login page is leveraging, Local Resources > Desktop Modules > Admin > Authentication > App_LocalResources > Login.aspx.

This worked immediately.
