I have a similar type issue. Let me try and explain better.
I
have a module that I install across all of my portals. This module
allows me to syndicate content to all of my portals. Each instance of
the module on any portal pulls the content from the host site.
I
have page links to various pages within the module. These pages are
blank and only link to the specified page within the module. However,
each portal will display the url address as if they were the site
generating the content. Here is an example.
http://xyz.com/syndicatedcontent/ta...fault.aspxI can use a dynamic link URL for future portals so I don't have to write the links as static. I do it like so:
~default.aspx?tabname=syndicatedcontent&pageid=222
This will generate a URL on another portal that still displays the same content. The URL looks like:
http://123.xyz.com/syndicatedconten...fault.aspx OR
http://abc.com/syndicatedcontent/ta...fault.aspxThe
problem with this approach is that if the home page loads and the user
goes directly to this link from the submenu link (may menu bar) and
clicks it FIRST. The link will not work. Page error saying can't find
the source. Once the user clicks on any other link then everything is
fine.
The real question is how do you create a dynamic link that
'appends' the PortalAlias in the Link URL area of the page settings?
Say.
~[Portal
ortalAlias]/default.aspx?tabname=syndicatedcontent&pagied=222
I have spent weeks on this. Any help would be a lifesaver.
