Is it possible to add a theme for the events module and make it available in the dropdown list of the module settings? How will I upload it to a server? I guess I could style it through a contaneir but that won't be available in the dropdown list.

It looks like you can do this by adding another folder and appropriate files in the Themes directory. I took a quick look and didn't find any documentation for the Events module. Perhaps asking for help at the DotNetNuke Events Forum might be the way to go.

As a test, I made a copy of the "small" directory and pasted it back into the Themes directory with the name small-test. Then, I went to a page with the Events module, looked at Settings, and small-test was listed in the dropdown box.
Edit the .css file and you have a new theme.
You can use Web Developer's Toolbar or other tool to match the styles in the .css file to the display.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
Is there anyway to upload the theme in case I don't have access to the installation files?
The only workaround I thought is downloading the source code, add the theme and do a source (re)installation of the events module.
Are you aware if there is any description file I'm supposed to update or the new theme will be automatically parsed by the installation?

If you don't have access to the web directory, you could add this by modifying the install package and reloading the module. You would do this with the install package. You don't need to touch the source code. Just look for the place that the existing Themes are installed, and copy that. My understanding is that Themes are just files that are installed.

I guess the install package is enough even if I make small adjustments to the html of the .ascx files as far as I don't touch the asp.net controls. Or does it imply to recompile the module? (sorry for the very noob question)

Yes, you can make small adjustments to the ascx files in the install package.
(Just make sure that you keep copies of what you have done so that you can upgrade later.)

This is a very interesting thread. I'm going to look into this as well. Seems like a great way to customize your site!

I posted the same topic on Events module official forum (
http://www.dotnetnuke.com:80/Commun...ault.aspx)
and the reply basically confirmed all that it was said here and also that next release of the module will let users upload their themes
