Hi. I'm wondering if this can be achieved :

I allow the user to login in DNN, upon successful login in DNN. I will refer the users to another module(which is another page) for them to choose a list of database and click enter.

However at this point of them, I do not want the functions to be viewable to them as they have not chosen their database.

Can I disable the functions first after they have selected their database then all these functions appear?
OR can I do likewise such as when the user click on the function without choosing the database, the site will prompt the user to select database first?

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish. Can you explain with some more (concrete?) details?

What Im trying to accomplish is as followed, in a simplify and detailed way.
I would require my user to login twice in my website which I have created in DNN.
Firstly, I will use the login account which DNN provides.
After the users login in and is successful. They will be navigated to another page, call choose of database to do query.

At this point, another login will be required to authenticate against the database the user has chosen. At this point of time, the functions are accessible, however, I would not like this to happen. Only after the 2nd login then the users are able to view the functions.

Is it possible to perform such function?

You can certainly do something like this, but I think that you will have to have a custom module or several custom modules developed.

When they choose a database, then something must force a second login.  This is why I think that you'll need something custom.

Yes, that the part that I need advise on, currently i have created my own login (by providing textbox for username and password respectively). This list of database is for the user to choose which database that they want to enquiry information from... thus I need them to authenticate against the database first.

Can you use security roles to determine which uses have access to which databases?

Other than doing something like that, I think that you'll need more custom programming.

ahh.. okie i will try on that using security roles. other than that, can I do smth like this, DNN prompt users to login to view the functions when the users have not login but they click on the function?
