First of all congrats on an awsome site, found it of great use so far and will certainly be recommending it to anyone who's considering DNN!

Over the last month or so I've been a DNN newbie in training on my site www.workoutbox.com/dnn.  I decided to port the old site (www.workoutbox.com) into DNN to make use of its powerfull platform and utlise Social Networking modules and other cool features.   Now I've seen the power of DNN, man im glad I made that choice as some coding experts were turning those nose up at DNN, there loss!

I'm looking to build a pretty large community around WorkoutBox and for that I'll definely need to customise the login / regisration system a fair bit.  In short i need to:

• Heavily change the look, feel and text on both the login / registration/ profile forms.
• Add custom fields to the forms and user profiles.
• Intergrate a 3rd party newsletter provider like Aweber.  I'm keen to do this through a simple checkbox on the registration screen and when ticked the user gets the opt in email from Aweber.

Regarding the final point, the main reason I'm interested in Aweber is down to delivery rates.  If i just use the built in newsletter system in my DNN install I'd imagine a lot of the emails would be blocked or thrown in the junk box, with Aweber they pretty much guaratee this won't happen.  What are your thoughts on this?

I'm not Lee, but I agree with your point. If mail delivery matters to you, go with someone who knows how to manage and deliver email. I don't have any experience with Aweber, though, so I can't comment on their service.

I'd be keen to get your opinion on the best Login / Registration module that would suit my needs as i know theres quite a few. Can you recommend any? Also, how easy will the aweber intergration be, I'd like to do it through a simple check box on a registration form. Is this possible?

I've used the Data Springs modules.  They are good.

I have used aweber for delivering e-mails and I can confirm they provide a good service. I have not implemented this within the registration process, however I will look into this as a tutorial, perhaps using Datasprings registration module.

Found this post from others that are doing what I've suggested. Apparently FormsMaster and iContact are the prefered solution:
