I need to control view or edit permissions by admin. DNN controls view / edit permissions at tab or module level based on roles.
I need the admin to choose a role and for that role he must be able select the tabs or modules which he can view or edit.
Ex: A registered user can view the following tabs t1,t2,t3,etc.
 This will provide easy way for the admin to control permissions. how to do this? any idea would be helpful

DotNetNuke includes the facility to determine who can view or edit content at either the page level or the module level. This is done in Page Settings or Module settings. Modules can inherit page permissions, or can be set separately. Also, settings can be customized based on the UserID.

If this is not what you need, please give a few more details.

DNN provides the facility to assign permissions at tab or module level. but we need to choose a tab or module and assign permissions.
My requirement is to select a role and specify the tabs which the users in the role can view or edit. by this way, if i create a new role, i will be able to choose the tabs and modules that can be viewed or edited without changing the tab or module settings.

If I understand, you want a UI that lets you select multiple pages and or modules and assign permissions? That doesn't exist in the DotNetNuke framework, and I'm not aware of a third party module that does it.

But ... when you set permissions on a page, you can have that permission passed to all children of the page.
