I have created a couple of skins for a couple of sites I am doing right now, and in both cases they work as I wanted them to in Firefox, but in IE the background images and the footer images are not showing.
There will certainly be a workaround to get over this problem, but I just don't seem to be able to find anything to explain why this is happening, and how to straighten out the issue.
An example of this issue can be seen (still in construction) at www.algelsomino.com which in Firefox has a pale textured background on the page, and also as a background to the photoalbum page. It has a footer image too, but none of these images are showing in IE.
Any suggestions or tips for this please?

I think I can now answer my own question, but if someone would like to confirm it would be appreciated.
It seems that IE does not like css shorthand, so apart from the transparent issue that seems to upset the browser, it looks like I have to write in the full background-image url / background-repeat and background-color to get over this one. It seems to have done the trick so I shall now go sort out the other pages which were suffering from the same headache.

IE can handle shorthand, you may want to double check that the shorthand you are writing is correct and that there are no mistakes in your CSS code, such as ; missing etc.
