I want to secure access to a document on my site.  The link to this document is in a public area.  The idea is to force users to signon before they can view the document.  I thought that if I built a new page, and gave it a link type of "file", and select the appropriate (secured) document file for this page,  then all I would have to do is check the boxes for the roles that should be able to view this new page (the document.)  But when I sign in and click on the link, I just get a blank page, not the document I was expecting.  What am I doing wrong?

OK, forget about security.  When I set Link Type = Page, that page behaves as a link to another page in my website.  But when I set Link Type = URL or File (and select an appropriate URL or File on my site) nothing happens!  The page just displays an empty skin.  How do I get Link Type = File to display a file (a PDF document) ??

I'm not sure what is wrong, but it might be easier to build a regular page, and then put this link on the page with either a Links or a Text/HTML module. You would set the visibility of that module to be visible only by resigistered users or whatever role you choose.

It certainly could be an attack. The first one looks like it's trying to pass SQL as part of a query string ...
