On the live site, make sure that the indexer scheduled task is active. Without it, there won't be feeds.

Mind you that each Text/HTML module will have it's own separate RSS feed.

I haven't looked at anything like this, but it may make more sense to use something like Ventrian News Articles, and replace separate Text/HTML modules with instances of Ventrian News Articles set to display a single article. Then, you would have a single feed from the Ventrian module ...

I can see the 'Subscribe to this feed' option when I click on the settings of the module, which means, its visible only to the host and admin. I want my users also to have the option of subscribing to the feed.

If the module is visible to all users, the RSS button will work.

if the RSS icon still does not display, check the container that you are using.

Try changing the current container to a default container that comes with DotNetNuke and see if the RSS icon now displays.

Thanks Lee.. I changed the container to a DNN default, and it works! I didn't use a container at all.. Is it necessary to use one? Does the Allow syndicate work only with DNN defaults?

Ok, great, you need to use a container that has an action button token for the RSS icon in its code. This can be any container, as long as the RSS token is included in the container html / ascx file.

You need to change the container that you are using on your RSS module.

ie, if you use the Minimal Extropy Containers they are located at:

Portals / _default/ Containers / MinimalExtropy / Title_Grey etc.

so navigate to Portals / _default/ Containers / for your own containers

If you look at minimal extropy you will see this line of code:

< dnn:ACTIONBUTTON runat="server" id="dnnACTIONBUTTON2" CommandName="SyndicateModule.Action" DisplayIcon="True" DisplayLink="false" / >

So you will need to copy that line of code from a minimal extropy container and paste it into the code of the container you are using on the RSS module.
