I can't figure this out.  Maybe is noobie-ism.  Maybe I'm overtired.  Maybe its a bug (although it'd be a pretty obvious one, and I don't see it reported here or on DNN site)

DNN 4.08.04.  Am using a skin I modified from DNN-Blue.

I want the container on ContentPane and LeftPane to sit right under the menu bar (no spaces).  Ultimately they will each have a background that needs to match across the page, so positioning is important to me.

Used the same parameters for each pane in my css.  [Border:0;Padding:0;Margin:0]
ContentPane results -- Pane flush against menu bar, and container flush at top of pane.
LeftPane results -- Pane flush against menu bar, looks like one line between container and pane at top.

I am using the same container skin in both places.

Tried testing with same module [text/html] in both places.  Same result.
Tried testing RightPane.  It behaves (properly) like ContentPane.

--------------------------------------------------------------
I notice an extraneous space in the LeftPane cell where the container lies:
    <TD id="dnn_LeftPane" class="leftpane" valign="top" align="center">&nbsp;<a name="371">a>

The CenterPane and RightPane do not have this space:
    <TD id="dnn_ContentPane" class="contentpane" valign="top" align="center"><a name="398">a>

Is this culprit??  If so, how do I get rid of it?
--------------------------------------------------------------

I've rambled enough.  Stumped, obviously.   Can anyone see what my error is??

It looks to me like there is a p tag in the left pane that's not in the content page. It occurs before the image.

If you've created this in the editor, look at the source in "raw" mode to make sure that the p tag isn't there, or to remove it.

There was a p tag from the editor.  But even when I had loaded an empty Text/Html module in LeftPane and RightPane, theLeftPane container stilled dropped down.

I solved the dilemma, though.  The portion of my LeftPane graphic that needed to match ContentPane graphic, I loaded as a background image for LeftPane.  (The pane is placed correctly, it was the container that was dropped down. )  The portion of the graphic that I want to change per page, I am putting that in the container.

Still don't know root cause of the original problem, but thanks for looking.
