Using DNN 3.2.0

I was trying to upload a 9mb pdf file to our portal but kept getting a timeout error so I copied the file directly into the correct portal folder on the webserver.

The file appears as expected in the File Manager module but when I try to reference it from a link module (by selecting the correct file location) the file does not appear in the dropdown list. The file is the only one in that folder.

I tried the following:
Making a copy of the file with a short filename
Copied a word document into the same folder

..I now have 3 files in that folder. All 3 files appear as expected on the File Manager module

When I try to reference that file location from a link module the page refreshes but the file dropdown list is still blank.

I also tried logging on as both Site and Host admin with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Isla

The default web.config file limits upload to 8 mb. You can edit web.config to allow larger uploads.

If you've uploaded files via ftp or otherwise, you'll need to click the "Synchronize" link in File Manager before the files appear.

Joe,

The "Synchronize" option was the fix I needed. Thanks as well for the web.config information.

Best
