hi all,
can please someone give an example on how to get this running: a horizontal menu like that one on dnncreative.com an when i click on a link there is a vertical menu on the right side showing the content of the selected entry in the horizontal. I dont know how to get two menues towed together.

Thankful for any help

The simple answer is that you need to add the second menu to your skin.

Now, do you want the vertical menu to appear only on the lower level pages, or on all pages? If you want only some pages to have the vertical menu, you'll have to create a second skin for that. You can easily modify the main skin to do it, though.

This is quite easy to do with something like the Snapsis Nav Menu. I'm not as experienced with the other menu systems, so we'll have to wait for Lee to chime in.

Please give a few more details ...

Hello, thank you for your reply. I like to have the menu on all pages with the main topics in the horizontal bar and the list of subpages in the vertical bar. At the moment i try to use the HouseMenu for the horizontal area and the Invetua SideMenu for the vertical area. Both elements are skin objects.

Hello,

on DNN creative I am using two separate house menus. - to create a side vertical menu for each of the main horizontal menu items you have to create a separate skin for each vertical menu (in the housemenu) - whereas the Snapsis menu can be setup much more easily in the menus configuration options.

If you want to learn how I did this in the house menu have a look at this tutorial:
How to create Horizontal CSS menus in DotNetNuke using the HouseMenu

this is for creating multiple horizontal menus, but the same principles will apply where one menu is horizontal and the other is vertical.

If I was approaching this again I would create this type of menu system using the Snapsis menu as it is much quicker to set up

hope this helps,

Thanks,
