The Search tool is a Token that can be added/removed to your site's skin. So, if you want to alter it, you alter it in your skin.

This code appears in the DNNBlue skin (note that I've changed the brackets to square brackets so that they will render nicely here):

ascx file: [dnn:SEARCH runat="server" id="dnnSEARCH" showWeb="True" showSite="True" /]

If you change showWeb="True" to showWeb="False" you will get rid of the web search button.

The text that is a prototype for the search string is in a localized text file. Use the Language Editor and look for the localized text under LocalResources/Admin/Skins/App_LocalResources/Search.ascx. You'll also find a second URL configured for searching msn.

Hi Lee, I can't find that option anywhere.. Could you please confirm if i'm looking in the right place.

Admin-> Languages -> Admin -> Skins -> AppLocalResources -> Search.ascx

Thank you,

If you wish to change the settings of the search token as Joe refers to then you need to edit your skin files. - you could double check the code with how we have implemented it in the Andreas 01 skin

That's not quite the order I mentioned in my messages ...

After you get into the Language Editor, there is a tree control in the left column.  You need to look there.
