Bitter Sweet Skin – with lost menu?

Just installed this one on my local host to play with.

I can see the “HouseMenu” token in the top of the right column – but no menu items.

Even admin and host menu items are lost?

How can I activate the menu here?

Thanks

Have you installed the House Menu into your DotNetNuke?  If not, you should.  This might help:

Thanks Joe.
(Gee, are you there 24 / 7??)

Yea I recalled that as I went back to read the instruction.
(I obviously still stuck in the "when everything else fail - read the manual" habit.)

I did the Vortex Music Skin and the HouseMenu last year, so I reviewed and installed the Module. (Assuming all is setup within the skin itself.)

DNN Version: 04.08.04
HouseMenu: 01.04.01 Beta

Before I installed the module I had a problem in that the skin installed itself as admin skin as well – thus hiding the menu items everywhere.

I worked around that, went back to DNN-Blue everywhere and successfully installed the module.

Now the problem is that I can’t reinstall the Bitter Sweet Skin in the installation????

I tried re-upload and install both in host and site, but no success.
Then I created a new portal and tested, after playing around and restart IE-07 the skin installed there and the menu is working.

I have now rebooted and tried again in my “0” portal but no go.

I noticed earlier at a check (with only the “0” portal in the system) that the skin was installed at: “Portals\0\Skins\skins”
Rather than: “Portals\_default\Skins\skins”

I just realized as I’m writing, so maybe I go and delete the “Portals\0\Skins\skins” folder??

Cheers for now.

Further about the skin problems.

I had no success after I deleted the skin in “portal/0/skin”
But I did found that the skin installed on all pages in the portal – except the “home” page.

The “home” page doesn’t accept any change of skin, while sub pages seems to be working normal.

Cheers

PS, can I attach “’jpg’s” here?

If not I will stick some images here:

You need to use the correct container for the content panes, otherwise the text will not display correctly in the bittersweet skin.

I would suggest you install the template that comes with the bittersweet skin so you can see how the content can be added to the page.

I would recommend you install the skin using the host menu
upload the template files
create a new portal, and while creating the portal select the new template

You will then be able to see an example of the skin setup

No, I'm really not here 24/7. More like 16/7!
