Hi All,

Firstly, thanks so much for all your useful tips and tutorials Lee.  The subscription to DnnCreative is money well spent!

I've been using HouseMenu on all our DNN projects for quite some time now, and i love it.

I have a client who has asked if they can have their dropdown menu aligned horizontally, not vertically.. this is a top horizontal menu, not a vertical side menu.  the best way to explain is by example.  This is what they want it to be like:

http://www.tjkdesign.com/articles/new_drop_down/LO.asp

and

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/

now looking at the html of both of these, it's just nested ul and li's, so that's a good start.

I'm asking the question of whether this is possible because i've never seen an example of this orientation of a DNN housemenu.

Has anyone done this successfully?
Are the any problems with this approach and DNN/housemenu?
I just don't want to waste time trying if there is a reason why this might not work with the housemenu.

It should work in IE6, IE7 (maybe i should also be testing in IE8 now!?), Firefox 2 (3?), and Safari 3

Many thanks for your time!

 Tim

Glad to hear the tutorials useful, it's always good to hear!

ok,

I attempted flyout styled menus using the house menu a long time ago with the default skins that the house menu provides, however the problem was that they did not display correctly in IE7. - so for housemenu I have always used static menus.

the good news is that recently I have experimented with the Snapsis menu and the Snapsis menu can handle this type of menu without any errors in IE7 etc.

If you are interested in Snapsis, there is a 35% discount available for subscribers here

Great,
Thanks Lee. I'll be html coding this skin next week, then will check out the Snapsis menu if I have trouble with this and the housemenu.
Thanks for you're advice, will let you know how i get on.

Cheers,
