Okay, I built a web for my dad, and I want to give him permission to approve users, but not all the rest of the fluff in the admin menu.  He also needs to be the one to receive the administrative emails.  I watched the (always awesome) video on moving pages from the admin menu, so I think that will be a snap as far as setting up a site admin and moving a few items there.  However, How do I remove him from the administrative role into a site admin one, and him still get the approval emails?

I'm betting you guys have a way.

Thanks in advance!

Set up a special adminstrator account, make that account the site administrator, and use your dad's email address as the site administrator's email address.

great idea, that worked. However, the moving of the user accounts, not so much. He can see the list of user accounts, but that does not give him the permission to edit them. It isn't a different tabid to the edit page. It says something about the module being restricted. Is there another way around this? Something else I am missing

I now realize this was a terrible Idea, moving the user accounts to it's own menu, because now I cannot access login or register. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have tried everything. If you click login or register it does nothing. http://louangel.com/Home/tabid/140/ctl/Register/Default.aspx or http://louangel.com/Home/tabid/140/ctl/Login/Default.aspx does take you there, but that's the only way. I've tried resetting the skin, looking at the tabid in the database (it's equal to null for logintabid), and can't get anything to work. Do I need to move the user accounts page back to the admin menu? How does one do this?

Moving the user accounts should not change access to login or register. - I have tested this on a test installation. - however, moving the user accounts does have the problems that you have come across where you cannot assign access to the user accounts unless the user is an administrator.

To move the user accounts page back into the admin menu you will need access to the database.

If you go to the tabs table, you will be able to see the user accounts page within the first few records. - within here you need to edit the user accounts page to match the settings of the other tabs that are in the admin menu.
