Hi Lee,

Been reviewing (again) your articles on CSS Menus (issue 12 Video's 2 & 3). I have a question.

How do I reduce the gap at the left hand side of the menu ??. Its not my Broswer as I can see the same gap on your video's. You add a 15px left margin to step in the menu BUT its already indented anyway.

I have tried to find an inherited style or something with margin, padding etc. but there is nothing I can see.

Is this an issue with the HOUSEMENU maybe ??.

Great articles by the way - I am still recommending a subscription to other DNN'ers ;-).

Thanks

Regards

Graham

Hi Graham,

The gap on the left-hand side of the menu is probably caused by padding from the pane that contains the menu.

I would have a look at any padding or margins that are added to the left-hand side of the screen.  A useful tool for doing this is the Web developers toolbar. I would suggest viewing issue 16 and look at the skinning troubleshooting video tutorial - this should help you work out any padding that you need to remove.

Glad to hear you find the tutorials useful,

Thanks,

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the link. - One thing you may want to check out is which version of HouseMenu you are using. I have recently found that the beta version does not display the simple red leaf skin menu correctly. - I would recommend you use v1.3 as this works correctly in all browsers.

Thanks,

Hi Lee,
I have the same problem as Graham. DNN 4.5.1. Housemenu Skinobject 1.4(beta)
Thanks for the usefull tip with the developers toolbar.
The padding and margins are right and so I would try v 1.3.
But where can I download?
At House of Nuke v 1.3 it is not available or is there any other solution?

Thank you
Bernd

Hello Bernd,

I've sent a request to Tim at House of Nuke to put up the v1.3 menu on his site but he has not responded. I guess if he is not going to release v1.3 again I need to delve into the code to see what he has changed and see if I can adapt the skin to work with v1.4, thanks,
