Hello, I was wondering if anyone on this forum can help me.

Our 4.0.3 site crashed this week.

On production server (2003 server), crash was after converting to VM ware, and after latest hotfix March 13.  Trigger was directly editing an .ascx file in portals/0/skins/includes that controlled a drop down quicklinks box.  VM ware was rolled back and production server is back up.

Test server on another machine crashed with exactly same sequence, except that there were additional errors after the VMware conversion but before editing the includes caused the total crash. Errors before the crash were  "DNN Command line (0): error BC2017: could not find library " etc. errors, and many key modules would not load, although site came up.

After crash, the only thing you get is object+reference+not+set+to+an+instance+of+an+object.&content=0
on the home page when viewing source.

If you have any ideas for things to look at I would appreciate it. IT dept. is committed to VM ware implementation.
