Hi everyone,

As a brief introduction, since this is my first time on a Creative DNN Magazine forum, my wife Kati and I are the content developers and caretakers of http://www.eternalquality.net

The back-end functionality is on the DNN platform, installed and with modules developed by a programmer.

Although I did simple html coding in the early nineties, I am not a programmer. I printed the DotNetNuke manual on skinning and it was way beyond my comprehension.

On my previous sites, done in html and fortified with online tools from the hosts, I could set up a flash file. But it has me stumped on DNN - even after numerous rounds of communication with tech support for the host. The programmer COULD assist me, but he is up to his eyeballs in completing modules for us.

Here's my present, pressing question:

How do I get my flash movie, an .SWF file of about 1.8 mgs, to run on the DNN platform?

Other items on my wish list are modules that Send a Page or Send a (pre-written) Email so users can recommend the site to friends; a form that collects information from webmasters who would like to be considered for a link exchange; and a one-button feedback form (How do you like this page?) as I saw on the CoffeeCup Software site.

Thank you!

Gary Smith

Hi Gary,

Welcome to the forums! - For flash, if you've placed flash within a website before, all you have to do is use that same piece of code. - Insert the Text / HTML module to a page, click edit, click on the HTML button, paste in the code for your Flash file, do not click on preview, just click on update & it will display within DNN.

I covered how to do this in detail in this tutorial: Flash in DotNetNuke

Recommending the site to a friend you can use this free module: Refer a friend

Email Feedback forms can be created using the Feedback module that comes with the standard installation of DNN

One button feedback form: - Depends how you want it to work, you could use a module such as Scott McCullochs News Articles module which allows you to provide feedback on your articles, or you may want to check out some of the modules on snowcovered

Hope this helps,
