You have a great site, Lee!  Lot of practical advises and information on Dotnetnuke.  I am a DNN newbie and am in the process of implementing a DNN4 site.  I wonder if you have any good suggestion for modules in the following areas.

1. Articles - I am currently using Scott Mcculloch's News Articles as look like this is the best I come across.  Is there something better, in CMS level?

2. Event - I need  a basic Event module.  The core Events module does 80% of what I want but I don't like the way it crams everything inside the calendar. Is there a good alternative?

3. Text/HTML - The core one gets the job done but I need a better one since the non-technical writers will update this type of modules frequently on site and it is ideal to maintain history, changes...etc

Thanks robo_arnold!

I personally prefer Scott McCullochs News Articles module, but I have reviewed other News Articles modules in the magazine. - If you go to the menu / Reviews / Modules / News & Articles Modules, you can check out the reviews.

On this page: DotNetNuke Articles, News, Announcements Modules

I have listed various modules that I have come across. - In terms of a full CMS for Articles it seems to be something that is lacking in DNN, which follows point 3. - I have not yet looked at any modules where you can maintain history, changes etc.

 - In the link above there is a module by engage and another link by OTS which claim to have the full CMS that you require, but I have not yet tested them. -

2. Events modules - The only recommendation I can make is to have a look at the modules on snowcovered.com. - In the past when I've needed to create for instance a gigs list for a band website I have created my own module as none of the events modules covered my needs. I haven't tested any of the events modules, so I would recommend you have a good look around. - I would be interested to hear what you find, so let us know to pass on the info to the rest of the community.

Hope this gives you a starting point & good luck with your site,

Cheers,
