i was able to change the right time zone under site settings... the prob is - if the user is an authenticated domain user it is off by 1 day. then if it logs out, it shows the correct date... but if it logs-in again it is off by 1 day again.  help

The time zone set in site settings is a default time zone for the site. Registered users also have their own time zone, set in the user profile. I think (although I'm not certain) that the user's time zone will default to the site time zone when the user is created.
