Too be honest I'm not too sure! - I seem to recall reading somewhere that it is now possible to run DNN on windows home XP, but I can't remember where I read it or what you had to do to set it up. - I'm assuming it runs through Visual Web Developer Express...

If you find out any further information let us know. I don't have any installs with Windows Home Edition on to try it out.

Thanks Lee, You've got real computers you mean, not the gimpy off the shelf box model's from the big-box retailers. I think all of the web express stuff is self contained development for dotNet starter kits. I'm just not sure if I should go with the Abyss web server that way I can play around with PHP mySQL stuff too.
I wasn't talking about making my computer a full-blown web server just local testing.
I've only skimmed the surface of the tutorials you already have available here, so if I've missed something, sorry about that.
About the magazine is it a print version magazine too or just electronic files.

Well I like building my own computers, I like experimenting with overclocking and pushing the computers to the edge! But they are starting to show their age now, I seem to spend longer twidddling my thumbs when editing and waiting for the computer rather than editing the actual videos, so I'm in need for a big upgrade.

I use the computers just for localhost testing, exacty like you want to do. I don't know anything about Abyss, but I would suggest that you try to keep everything as flexible as possible. - For instance can you install SQL Server alongside Abyss? - I use SQL Server Developers version which is very cheap when you compare it to the full blown version. - It is a fully working copy but the license is limited just for testing. - It was only something like £40 - can't quite remember as it was a while ago now, I think I purchased it through Amazon.

I think MIcrosoft Free Express tools are an invitation to get a whole lot more people onboard with dotNetNuke.

I just hit a few glitches trying to install it, once all the pieces got/are in place, the weather got nice, and you'll find me disc golfing... and blogging away in the forum's where I can.
Totally squandered any development time I had this past weekend.
