Hello everyone. Our new DNN intranet is going well. It's a good indication of success, I think, when management asks for more. The office manager asked me if I could provide a mechanism for sharing who is out for the day. Currently the receptionist collects this information on paper. If someone is looking for somebody and cant find them, they call the receptionist and she tells them status, like perhaps they called out sick. I think sharing this information on the intranet is a good idea. Hmmm... now how best to do this.... I searched around a bit for a module, didn't find one. I could use the Announcements module or something. I currently use Announcements for a Happy Birthday widget. Hmmm... There are 110 people that work in this office. I asked the receptionist and she said on any given day there might be zero absences or there might be a dozen. It just depends. Today there are nine people out. Thanks for your consideration. Doxey

I suppose I could do an Events module with everyone's vacation schedule in there. Then the receptionist could add people out sick or whatever as it happens. I could then present a list on the Home page via a RSS feed.

I think that the biggest here is to define the workflow and to figure out who/how will maintain the status.
