Hello everyone,

Do you know if there is a way to customize the size of a textbox control on the Manage Profile tab of the Edit User Accounts page?  I have a custom profile property that I want to store up to 500 characters in, so I would like to be able to make the associated textbox control on this page wider and have multiple lines if possible.

I have also tried changing the type of the profile property to RichText so I could have access to the RichTextBox control, but when I used token replacement on the profile property it displayed HTML along with the text I wanted to store.  For example it displayed "

Thank you for registering for an account!

" instead of "Thank you for registering for an account!"  Is there a way to make the RichTextBox not store HTML and just store the raw text?

A solution to either of these issues would be very helpful.  Thank you.

For the second part, you can switch the editor to source mode and enter unstyled text.

For the first part, you will need to identify the styles that are applied to the profile elements and then add styles to portal.css to modify them. I've never tried this for profile properties, so I'm not sure is this is easy or hard.

I can't see an easy way to do this with a standard text box, I've tried CSS styling the id and can't find an ID to just target that textbox, it's possible to target all of the textboxes, but I'm sure that is not useful!

One other thing to try is:

Use the RichText editor
This should bring up the FCK Editor
Go to view your profile (logged in as admin)
Click on Show Custom Editor Option
Settings type at the top - select "instance"
Other editor options
HTML Encode Output select No
Reverse HTML select no
Force width and height, you can specify the dimensions you require
Editor toolbar view options - in there you can remove the toolbars to strip down the editor

At the bottom, select Instance and click on Apply - These settings will just be applied to the FCK Editor used for Profile Properties.

You may find it useful looking at these tutorials for further configuring the FCK Editor:

I didn't see the options you mentioned at first, so I upgraded my FCK Editor and then they were present.  It appears to work the way I had hoped.  Thank you very much for the help!
