    Well Lee,

Kudos on the recent free download promotion. You finally enticed me to join.

    Question:

if I have already purchased half of the products on the fatburger list, what benefit do I get from signing up for the 1 year license? Example: Do we get a year extension on a ventrian subscription?

    TIA
    Buck

    Hello,

The year license that you get now is free, so it wont extend any subscriptions you currently have with other modules.

I asked Flatburger what was the benefit and they said:

The advantage of a 1 year license is that the modules come with updates/upgrades over the license period. In addition, most developers will start raising their prices on a one time /unlimited use purchase of a module and the license period modules "subscription" will be a cheaper alternative.

    Does this help?

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy the magazine,

    Lee

Here's some additional information Flatburger answered to a separate question:

At the end of the 12 month period you will be able to purchase a license to renew your module for another 12 months of use.  The advantage of licenses offered for a period of time is that you will also receive upgrades/feature enhancements as they are made available by the developer.  Within the next month we will be releasing an ad-on module that allows you to instantly receive updates to any of the modules from this promotion with a single click of your mouse.. very similar to how windows update currently works.

The developers offering the modules through this promotion will be offering both a renewable 12 month license (with upgrades/feature enhancements), and also one time purchase without upgrades/feature enhancements.  We're hoping that the renewable 12 month license model starts to catch on and become a popular choice by consumers.

Hi, I' m a recent subscriber to DNN Creative and so far I love what I am seeing. I also got the email about the Flatburger offer today. I subscribed about two weeks ago and am wondering if this offer applies to only new subscribers or does this also cover current subscribers? Do I have to extend a year to get the offer?

    Great Deal Lee,

Are the modules specialized which will deactivate automatically after a year? Or are they the same standard modules?

Are there more modules coming soon?

    Hello,

I have added a FAQ to the bottom of this page:
    http://www.dnncreative.com/Subscrib...fault.aspx

The 12 month license will provide you with module updates when they are released by the publisher. At the end of the 12 month period you will be given the option to purchase a new license or you can decide to stop using the module on your website. If you decide not to renew your license the module will become locked down and will not reactivate until a license has been purchased.

I don't know if there are other modules coming soon, there is a support link in the module downloads section which allows you to ask questions directly to FlatBurger.

    Thanks and Happy Nuking!

    Hi Andre,

The offer was a time limited offer to actually download and activate the modules and the offer has now closed. - This is separate to your subscription of DNN Creative. - This is because FlatBurger has paid for the module licenses, so as you can appreciate there is a limited number available.

At a request to Flatburger they have agreed to create a page for any subscribers that have not had chance to download and activate the modules. - This page will only be available till the 15th Feb and then after that the modules will not be available.

I will email you the link separately.

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Hi Lee,

Love the site and the newsletters!

So apparently this promotion was until the end of February 15th your time, because I logged in at 11:30pm Feb 15th my time and it said it was already expired. That's why I get for waiting until the last possible minute, but I saw the clock and suddenly the alarm went off in my head and I rushed to my computer to activate a license. All I wanted was the XMod license, do you have any hook-ups with Flatburger to make this happen or is it really the end of the road? Please save me some cash, I signed up with your site because of this promotion, but I'm new to DNN and I've been learning the basics for almost two months now and simply didn't have a need for the modules, but I know I will need the XMod one. Please help!!!

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,

I'm afraid there is nothing else I can do. All I can suggest is that you contact Flatburger direct at: promo@flatburger.com
