Good Afternoon All, As a self-professed DNN Newbie, I think I might have accidentally removed or disabled the ability to add new posts to my core blog module. I have the View_Blog in the content portion of my page. When I click the down arrow next to View_Blog nothing happens. I have the Blog_Archive setup on the left pane. But, I cannot seem to find the link to create a new post. I tried viewing in layout, Edit and View modes to no avail. Is it possible to insert this functionality without uninstalling/reinstalling the entire blog module? Thanks, Sid

In Edit Mode, the View_Blog module should have an Add Blog Entry item on the module's dropdown menu. However, you need to have the View_Blog module displaying a single blog. Click on the blog's name on the Blog_List module to get there. The URL for the page needs to have BlogID in it.

Joe,
I might have goofed up here. The only items I have in layout mode are View_Blog in content pane and Blog_Archive in the left pane. I must have removed the Blog_List module. Can it be re-inserted without installing the entire blog module?
Thanks much for your help!

Create a new page and install the Blog module on it.  Then, you can move the item you need from that page to your existing Blog page.  Then, you can delete the new page.

We have done everything from creating a brand new blog which did in fact allow us to add new entries without a problem. The only problem I have with that is by copying and pasting old blog entries on to a new blog, we are messing up the post date that accompanies any blog entry. So suddenly it looks like several blog entries posted within the span of about five years now appear to have been posted very recently within a few minutes of each other.

We've also tried creating a brand new page and moving all of the modules accompanying the original blog to the new page, but we found that that did not solve the new entry problem either.

If there are only a few entries, you can probably go into the database table for the Blog module and manually adjust dates.

Backup the database first, and be careful!
