I went through a September 2006 set of tutorials on How to manage profile properties in user accounts. I see that my 5.1.4 version did away with some of the ascx module editing which was great. However, the way that the profile appears to the user looks a lot different in the older version used in the tutorial than it does now. I liked the categorized display rather than a long list of properties that now show up. Is the difference in the display due to different skins used then and now? How can I get the old look back?

I actually hadn't noticed this until seeing your question. I don't see any way to change the display either.

Hi. Any update on this issue?

I'm using DNN 5.2.2 and have been desperately searching for profile field categorization functionality from the new version. I also miss the categorization that was present on the old DNN Creative tutorial videos and DNN versions. Do you think that this is a bug in the current release or have they really ripped out the whole thing on purpose?

Any ideas?

Hello,

I've had a look at this in DNN5.x and can't see a way of enabling the categorization feature, I even tried adding a profile property with DataType of Unknown to see if it would display it as a label, but it just doesn't display the field.

Not sure if this is a bug or if they have removed it on purpose. Thanks,
Lee Sykes

Hi and thanks for your immediate response. Just to inform that I added this as a new bug to their bug reporting system. Let's see what happens.
